Ada B’s Back Porch
For over seventy years, Ada B had dedicated her entire life to celebrating “old folks and young ‘ins” in the community. Most folks loved hearing her play the piano, and share about the good old days, where many a scrumptious meal was served. She told everyone to “Never neglect your parents.” But, that’s just what was happening in her town, whose population was less than the number of nursing residents. It was a popular place where families dropped off and left their loved ones - out of sight out of mind. That was until Ada’s grandson started posting her back porch southern hospitality visits on social media, followed by her chats with nursing home residents. Posts included lucid stories of a former Congresswoman, veteran, venture capitalists, and a concert pianist, thought to be worthless or in stupors. Ada’s Back Porch became a hit to the chagrin of one local network executive, who sought out to discredit her and steal the idea as his own, until his own dark secret was revealed.
